The symbol of Petach – Tikva illustrates the first years of the town, by three components and one sentence. At the past, Petach Tikva was a farming community of private farms. The ideas of this symbol appeared in the first Hebrew postal service stamp. The plow picture symbols the first plowing which was done in Petach Tikva.
It also symbols the beginning of the agriculture in Israel. The green fields symbol the drying of the Yarkon swamps which became later green fields. The orange tree symbols the advanced citrus industry of Petach Tikva. A free translation of the Hebrew sentence from the Book of Mishley, in the Bible means: The diligent farmer will be satiated with bread.
Actually, the pioneers of Petach Tikva were fully compensated from their work.
